| The cat charities at this time
of year were already overflowing and "Topcat" as
a result of achieving "pensionable" age was considered
too old to rehome. Consequently, the very difficult decision
was made and he was brought to our surgery. My colleague Michele
was asked to perform this very difficult task by his owner
but struggled to carry it out without exploring further options.
Whilst I, myself have currently failed to embrace the new
internet "social networking" sites such as Facebook
I am delighted to say in this particular instance it came
up trumps! Several pleas on the "world wide web"
by Michele, triggered a domino effect amongst our own network
of undergraduates. "Sarah", one of our most promising
students, took up the call and through her perseverance
located a most suitable home in our own town of Hinckley.
So a very merry Christmas to "Topcat" and all
of our patients and I hope not to see you too frequently
in 2011
